Help Us Protect & Upgrade Our Home: Community Support Needed for LCVH

We are reaching out to our community for support to fund critical safety upgrades and a new in-house laundry facility for our veteran residents.

Tree restoration:

We have approximately five old-growth Live Oak trees surrounding the house. Over time, several branches have grown over the roof, placing the roof and solar panels at risk of damage during high-wind events. We are seeking to trim the branches that present the highest risk to help protect the house and ensure resident safety.

Kitchen floor upgrade:

The kitchen floor contains a commercial flooring product that has deteriorated over time, creating a tripping hazard for residents. While we have taken temporary measures to reduce the risk, the flooring needs to be replaced to better accommodate all residents, particularly those with mobility challenges.

Laundry room remodel:

The house was originally built in the 1960s without a laundry room. When LCVH purchased the home, a shed was constructed on the rear of the property as a temporary solution. Years later, a more permanent solution is needed to support 15 residents, two washers, and two dryers, while allowing residents to do laundry without leaving the house.

This project will involve removing the temporary structure and constructing a 12' x 20' addition to the rear of the house. The addition will include the necessary water, electrical, and HVAC systems to support two washers and two dryers, as well as a pantry area for grocery storage.
